Electronic Communication and Social Media Policies

As representatives of Glenbard Hockey Club (“Club”), all players are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity both on and off the ice. This includes responsible use of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat) and all forms of electronic communication, including texting and messaging apps.

Policy Guidelines

  1. Respectful Communication
  2. Players must not post, text, or share content that is offensive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful.
  3. All communication with teammates, coaches, officials, and families must remain respectful and appropriate.
  4. Club Image & Representation
  5. Players are representatives of Glenbard Hockey on and off the ice.
  6. nappropriate, negative, or harmful posts, texts, or messages that damage the reputation of the Club, teammates, or coaches are not permitted.
  7. Privacy
  8. Do not share personal or private information (such as addresses, phone numbers, or confidential team matters) without consent.
  9. Respect teammates and families before posting or sharing photos, videos, or private text conversations.
  10. Sportsmanship
  11. Avoid negative commentary about referees, opponents, or organizations, whether online or in text messages.
  12. Use communication to promote positivity, teamwork, and fair play.
  13. Accountability
  14. Any violation of this policy, whether through social media, texting, or other messaging platforms, may result in disciplinary action, including suspension from games, practices, or Club activities.
  15. Players are encouraged to think before posting or texting: Would I say this in front of my teammates, coaches, and parents?
